Studio19 Architects is a vibrant, growing firm located in Downtown Seattle. We have a broad variety of project types and scales ranging from Mixed-use and Multifamily to Hospitality, Commercial Tenant Improvement, Single Family Custom Homes, Interior Design and Master Planning.

We currently have an opening for a senior Project Manager/Senior Project Architect with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience competent in leading a project through all phases, including but not limited to the detailing and technical documentation of project design, coordination of building systems with consultants, confirmation of conformance with all applicable codes and interface with municipal building departments and other governing agencies to coordinate approvals.

Job Description:

  • Lead project through various phases
  • Interpret design concepts and translate them into workable construction systems; evaluate alternatives to develop cost effective solutions; maintain quality technical and design control
  • Preparation and modification of permit and construction drawings ensuring the incorporation of the design intent utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and CAD software
  • Develop construction details and research architectural materials and systems
  • Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation
  • Work independently or with design team to complete projects on aggressive        schedules
  • Conduct product and code research and incorporate regulatory requirements into technical documents
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Multi-family projects
  • Familiarity with Seattle IBC codes and Seattle MUP process
  • Construction materials, methods, standards and codes
  • Architectural building systems and construction detailing
  • Construction documentation production
  • Revit (including modeling and documentation) and AutoCAD required
  • MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • 3D modeling and rendering software such as 3ds Max Design and SketchUp a plus
  • Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign graphic software a plus
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Job Description:

  • Work independently and with project teams on projects from the schematic phase through construction administration
  • Create 3D representations of design sketches or developed projects
  • Prepare and modify architectural documents (plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.) as directed by project designer utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and CAD software
  • Prepare 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings

Job Requirements:

  • Strong 3D modeling and rendering skills is a MUST.

Job Description:

With preliminary direction from a licensed architect, assist in pre-design/planning and all design phases of residential project (single family homes and townhomes), mixed-use building, multifamily apartment building, affordable housing, high-rise building, retail spaces and commercial buildings, including new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, parking garage, and unit plans; setup meetings with client representatives for presentations and workshops, analysis of goals and needs, develop programmed space spreadsheets, narrative summaries, room data sheets, adjacency diagrams, graphic content, and prepare final Developed Project Program document; assist in responding to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ’s), Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and other marketing and business development materials using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office software; participate in all phases of design competition including massing concepts, site designs and production of presentation documents; assemble design presentation documents such as Early Design Guidance, Design Recommendations packets as well as additional location-specific or site-specific design presentation documents including International Special Review District and Architectural Review Committee packets; conduct various researches on existing buildings and produce supporting documents such as Building History reports for city’s approval; conduct preliminary site survey and analysis of existing conditions using GIS; gather information on past projects, content development, quick turnaround concept development, 3D digital modeling, along with presentation and proposal design and formatting; research building codes and regulations, collect data, and write reports and presentations to incorporate research and data into architectural designs; produce feasibility studies and other initial design documentation and presentations to kick start the project and gather information from the client with the use of design renderings, free hand sketching, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, and other Architectural 2D/3D software to communicate architectural design concepts; set up the context model environment and settings for 3D architectural visualization for design presentation options for the clients, as well as to use as in house design reviews; collaborate on concept alternatives, studies and development requiring 3D digital massing, floor plans, space plans, building elevations, sections and perspectives; participate in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies on a given project and coordinate for client and agency review and approval; coordinate and gather data on provided site survey of existing conditions and take as built measurements; produce site analysis studies with site photography, code research, base drawings, and diagrams; provide alternative site design studies requiring site plans, site sections, 3D digital massing and digital site modeling; prepare and incorporate weather data analysis to identify passive design potential based on the local climate and building use to minimize building energy needs and maximize the energy savings; prepare client and public presentations, workshops and meetings by using 2D/3D CAD, building information modeling programs (such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, VRay, and Enscape), analysis and computer skills to develop 3D building computer models and images, and presentation images; develop design documents for all design phases, schematic design through construction documents including documenting architectural plans, elevations, and details in imperial or metric standards for jurisdictional agency corrections using 2D/3D modeling software, mainly AutoCAD as well as other related BIM, 2D and 3D Modeling software; translate computer models into physical models using laser cutter and 3D printer and prepare data for architectural model shop equipment; prepare architectural visualization imagery utilizing advanced rendering techniques such as V-Ray for design evaluation; translate clients' functional and spatial requirements for structures into feasible design solutions, incorporating basic detailing, structural engineering principles and building systems into architectural designs; respond to comments from Design Review Boards utilizing architecture design and urban planning principles; revise, as indicated by Project Architect and Principal, in-progress sets of design development and construction documents; assist in establishing task schedule and manpower requirements consistent with the project agreement, including identifying project requirements and projecting long term needs; assist in managing and coordination of project consultant agreements, project budgets, and construction budgets with clients and contractors involved; assist in identifying and quantifying tasks outside the scope of the Owner-Architect agreement for negotiation of additional services; assist Project Architects and Interior Designers with enlarged plans, interior and exterior elevations, sectional and detail drawings; provide material and product research and analysis appropriate for projects requirements and client’s satisfaction; perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as aspects of design arise from client, agency or public input; apply architectural principles to review all related shop drawings, samples, mockups, and cut sheets on materials & equipment; assist project manager or architect in project closeout, such as final inspections, preparation of punch list, record drawings, and post occupancy review.

Job Requirements:
